The three star approved White Heather Farmhouse is a short drive from Kenmare town centre. Kenmare is a haven of tranquillity, gourmet food and breathtaking scenery in one of the most natural, un-spoilt environments in Europe. It’s location on the edge of the sea provides Kenmare with seafood that is quite simply the best. On 1st July 2008, Kenmare was chosen
“The Best Kept Town in Ireland 2008”.
Founded in 1670 by Sir William Petty, the unique charm and inherent beauty of the town remains unchanged. The Tourist Board, Bórd Fáilte, officially recognised the historical, cultural and environmental significance of Kenmare by bestowing upon it the title of Kerry's first Heritage Town.
The picturesque County Kerry town, one of Ireland's few designed towns, won the overall prize in the 2000 Tidy Towns Competition. Cradled in the heart of Kenmare Bay, the picturesque town of Kenmare is the perfect location from which to discover the South West of Ireland, linking the internationally famous Ring of Kerry with the rugged Ring of Beara.
